Dumaguete City houses different activities for backpackers and tourists. From an adventurous and energy-draining activity like swimming with the sea turtles in Apo Island to a more relaxed sunset watching in Rizal Boulevard, the “City of Gentle People” has our back. Moreover, Dumaguete is also a nice place for a food trip and one of the most popular diners in the heart of the city is Gabby’s Bistro.
girl, adventure and misadventure
Dumaguete City is quite popular as the perfect place to chill out and unwind from the stressful metropolis traffic. But apart from the laidback vibes of the city, it also opens doors for adventure seekers like scuba divers where they can explore the rich marine life in Apo Island. However, the waters of Apo Island is not only restricted for professional divers and underwater daredevils. Swimming with sea turtles or pawikan is also possible even for the frustrated swimmers like me.
South Cebu roadtrip.. why not?
A spontaneous road trip is one of the ultimate travel goals so why not take a tour in South Cebu? The Southern part of Cebu leaves you with choices of adrenaline-pumping and relaxing activities– both on the same side of the plate. So without further adieu, here’s how we conquered South Cebu with our 2 days and 1-night road trip experience.
If you’re someone who has been to Cebu or proudly from Cebu, I’m pretty sure you already ticked off Osmeña Peak and Kawasan Falls in your list. I guess I am an exception though because even though I was born and raised in Cebu I have never been to these spots until recently. Located in South Cebu, these two usually go together in every trips whether you’re a mountaineer or a mere tourist who wants to explore the highest point of Cebu and down to the enchanting waters of Kawasan Falls. If you’re planning on a Cebu adventure, you might want to add these two in your itinerary.
You might (or might not) heard of them yet but you can also find a taste of Amsterdam, Greece, and China without spending thousands of your hard earned money. How? Cebu’s Sirao Garden, Temple of Leah and Taoist Temple got your back. So if you happen to be in this lovely island for a day or two, ditch your passports for now and brace yourself for a multi-national tour without leaving Cebu.
Revisiting Mt. Kan-Irag was not as easy as how it went the first time and I’m glad that I did not come empty handed.
Do not misunderstand. I am not an expert here so I cannot give a detailed guide in trekking Mt. Kan-Irag as I am not a “certified” trekker myself. But what I will leave you today is an inexperienced’s first-hand experience in surviving a five to six hours of trekking in the precious Mt. Kan-Irag– hailed as “the mountain within the city”. So if you are a beginner and you want to explore Mt. Kan-Irag (or your trekker friends blackmailed you to do so), this post might be helpful.
I frequently want to travel or go outdoors to distress and to simply fulfill my wanderlust. Whenever I don’t, I feel frustrated at life. Surprisingly, I was relieved by this burden when I trekked Mt. Kan-Irag. I never thought that I can wanderlust even without spending a lot over the weekend.
Neighbor to the famous Sirao Flower Farm, I didn’t expect that the jump off area for Mt. Kan-Irag will take me to a place which will change my appetite for adventures.
If you ask me out for an extreme adventure right now, I’ll probably put a brave face on and gladly accept your invite. However, what you don’t know (and probably wouldn’t know) is that few seconds after, I’m already cursing myself at the back of my mind for impulsively accepting the offer.
It is because of this experience that I came up with the reasons why you should not try spelunking at Sumaguing Cave.
Words can’t explain how hard I fell for Sagada. No offense to Banaue and Baguio but it’s just that I was able to explore more of Sagada than these places. Spending 4 days at this simple town felt like escaping reality. Each day, I was bound for a different adventure. Each day, it never failed to amaze me– its culture, its people, its view.
This 4D3N Banaue-Sagada-Baguio trip is my most anticipated trip for this year.
At that time, we just wanted to get off the yacht and keep our feet on steady ground. With enough convincing, the yacht owner allowed the 6 of us to dock in the nearest island. If my memory served me right, it was already 5 o’clock in the afternoon and the sun is setting. Again, we have to be transferred to a fishing boat to reach the shore.
